For the past 20 years and currently, Nicole Schapiro is successful at instructing, facilitating, coaching, strategic planning and OD consulting for San Mateo County. Ms. Schapiro has written numerous business articles and had columns in newspapers specifically dealing with women in business. She is the author of the first negotiating book for women: Negotiating For Your Life – Strategies for Women, a New York Times Bestseller, published by Henry Holt & Company in 5 languages. When first published, her book was reviewed by the New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle as "this year's best contribution to business self-help books."
Nicole is committed to give back to the community. She has consistently worked to improve the quality of life for women and girls locally and globally. She has served on the San Francisco Commission on The Status of Women for former Mayor Diane Feinstein. She has been involved with SAGE Project, the fight against trafficking. She has volunteered to coach the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame recipients on their acceptance speeches. Ms. Schapiro is a keynote speaker for national and global women’s conferences. Nicole facilitates and trains in leadership development, team building, essential conversations and empowerment to organizations whose mission addresses gender equities, health issues and other needs of minorities, women and families. Nicole also volunteers her time to mentor 2 aspiring immigrant women per year to help them catapult their careers and dreams so they can become valued members of their community.
Ms Shapiro is the epitome of the “American Dream.” She is a role model of how to succeed against all odds and challenges. She was hidden and raised as the only child in a silent cloister and had no verbal skills until the age of 9. At age 15, she escaped alone from Communist Hungary to seek freedom in the United States. She lived as a homeless person in New York City for a year. Eventually she received a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in Industrial Psychology from New York University. She became the first woman Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at a major New York financial institution.

Awards: The Congressional Recognition for “Outstanding Service to the Community,” The City of San Francisco's Immigrant of the Year Award, Toastmasters International Leadership Award, San Francisco Small Business Administration's Woman Business Advocate of the Year, and was honored in 2000 as a 21st Century Dynamic Woman by the American Business Women's Association.
