Her experience ranges from casework with children, coordination and facilitation of programs with schools and mental health agencies, crisis intervention, and the entire spectrum of therapy with children.

Ms. Teixeira commitment to children and leadership in the community is demonstrated through her education and the various positions she has held. She has more than ten years of private practice experience working with victims of sexual abuse. She has participated in the community by being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), mediating on behalf of children in the courts, supporting programs that focus on conflict resolution for youth and teen pregnancy prevention, as well as serving on several community boards that empower at-risk adults and children. She also earned a Harvard School of Government Certificate in 2004.

She is dedicated to increasing the awareness of human rights locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and has visited many communities and countries to document human rights abuses and provide support through teaching English, educating about sexually transmitted diseases and immunizing children.

During the past five years she has expanded the Crowley Children’s Fund support of at-risk children to the Dominican Republic, India, and Kenya. She has connected with various non-profit efforts in these countries that increase the awareness of human rights, provide medical services and/or focus on education and safe environments for at-risk children and families. Her vision for how the global community and regional community are connected is demonstrated through her continued efforts to seek out collaborative efforts that are innovative and seek to directly impact and increase the health and safety of children through our world.
