Jeanine “Nini” Martin is the Director of National Healthcare for the US Health & Life Sciences unit of Avande, Inc ( Joint Venture between Microsoft and Accenture).  She joined Avanade after spending the last 6 years as a US Health Provider Industry Strategist that helped to build the Microsoft Health Provider, Plan and Life Sciences Industry Team since its inception to a multi-billion dollar business unit.

 

Over the past 25 years, as a HIT Leader, Nurse Advocate & Clinical Informaticist, she has worked with both private, commercial and public sector health and life sciences customers from state and local government, academic medical centers, hospital IDN’s, HMO’s, small & medium facilities and IPA’s on ACO, PCMH, population health, patient engagement, HIE/HIX Initiatives etc. 

 

She has helped to co-develop innovative technology healthcare solutions on the Microsoft platform, i.e. surface computing, XBox Kinect, Windows Phone 7. Under the leadership of Bill Gates & Steve Ballmer, she was an exclusive member of Microsoft’s Global Health Strategy Committee, Microsoft’s Global Health Executive Briefing Speaker’s Bureau and the Microsoft-HIMSS Healthcare User Group liaison.  She formed Microsoft’s 1st National Cross-Disciplinary Clinical Informatics Council and helped to form their 1st Health Provider Advisory Council where she served as the dedicated Global “CRM in healthcare” SME on the Team. 

 

She worked formerly for the Chicago Board of Trade, is a Fellow HIMSS member and has Advisory Board affiliations with many ‘other’ healthcare organizations and initiatives worldwide.  She is the past President of Women in Technology International, the Founding President of Women in Technology (TN), the Founding member of the HIMSS-PMI Project Management in Healthcare SIG. She serves on the CONNECT.org Spring Board Program & StartUp Health Advisory Board Networks. She was an Advisory Board member of Dossia (Personal Health Platform). 

 

She was a member of the 1st Team to implement the Enterprise-wide Project Management solution at Toyota that is now leveraged as “lean processing” in healthcare. She is a Founding Officer of the TN HIMSS Chapter & the National Health IT Summit where she showcased global industry leaders during the office tenure of President Bush such as Newt Gingrich, Dr John Halamka, Gov Phil Bredesen (TN), Sen Bill Frist (TN) & Dr David Brailer, former ONCHIT Chair etc. 

 

She is a member of a small, exclusive group of healthcare SME’s that have recently advised the CTO of the US Dept of HHS on the current/future state of Health Reform and she was recently accepted into the ONC-funded Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Clinical Informatics program. She was recruited to the 1st season of Donald Trump’s Apprentice TV series and is a former Director of Marketing for the former Women’s NFL. 

 

She was born in Boston, MA, raised in Marin County and lived over 10 years in Nashville, TN. She has recently relocated from the National Training Center at Fort Irwin in the Mojave Desert to the North Capitol Region where she lives with her husband (Major in the US Army at the medical research facility @ Ft Detrick in Frederick, MD) and 2 children. Her native language is German and she played tennis at the Olympic level. She loves spending time with her family, all sports and travel.
